ENTERPRISE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION INSTALLATION

Public transportation hubs—such as airports, intercity bus terminals, and commuter rail stations—face complex security demands driven by high passenger volumes, numerous access points, and the need to maintain efficient passenger movement while ensuring safety. To address these challenges, Jendy Physical Security leverages Verkada’s cloud-native video surveillance and access control technology to deliver a scalable, integrated security architecture purpose-built for transit environments. Verkada’s edge-based cameras and cloud-managed access control systems enable transit operators to monitor activity and assets across multiple facilities from a centralized dashboard, eliminating reliance on fragmented legacy DVR or NVR infrastructure and simplifying security operations across large geographic areas.

In high-traffic airport environments, Jendy’s deployment of Verkada camera solutions strengthens perimeter and terminal security by delivering high-resolution video coverage that integrates seamlessly with other security layers. Verkada’s hybrid-cloud architecture provides continuous 24/7 monitoring with secure remote access for authorized security and operations teams, supporting real-time situational awareness and rapid incident response. Through mobile and desktop interfaces, personnel can view live feeds, perform forensic video searches, and instantly share critical footage with law enforcement or operational stakeholders—streamlining investigations and improving coordination in fast-paced, time-sensitive transit settings.

In bus terminals and regional rail stations, access control must accommodate both public entry points and restricted areas such as employee lounges, control rooms, and maintenance spaces. Jendy integrates Verkada’s access control hardware with its video surveillance platform to deliver a unified system that synchronizes access events with video footage, strengthening accountability and reducing the risk of unauthorized entry. Cloud-based access management enables transit agencies to assign role-based permissions, monitor door status in real time, and update credentials remotely—capabilities that are especially critical for facilities with rotating staff, multiple shifts, or distributed operations.

COMPLETE TURN-KEY NATIONAL SECURITY INSTALLERS

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION INSTALLER EXPERTS

A key advantage of Jendy’s deployment model for public transportation is centralized management combined with distributed visibility. Using Verkada’s Command software, transit security teams can monitor networked cameras and access points across multiple locations from a single, unified dashboard, enabling rapid detection of anomalies and coordinated response. This centralized approach supports proactive security operations—for example, spotting unusual crowding in a train station or quickly locating a lost child in a busy concourse using AI-powered video search and event filtering. By reducing reliance on on-site recording devices and consolidating data securely in the cloud, transit agencies can also standardize compliance and retention policies, ensuring auditability and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.

Finally, the combination of Verkada’s technology and Jendy’s integration expertise enables public transportation providers to strengthen both physical security and operational efficiency. Transit networks must remain operational and responsive, even during emergencies, and Jendy’s deployments leverage integrated alarm systems, environmental sensors, and visitor credentialing tools—such as temporary access—to create a flexible, layered security posture. While specific configurations are tailored to each agency, the underlying technology supports scalable deployments that grow with ridership and infrastructure, helping transit authorities modernize legacy systems and deliver a safer, more resilient passenger experience.

Arizona VERKADA SECURITY INSTALLATION FAQ BY JENDY

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Find answers and solutions to common security installation questions. If you cant find an answer, contact us and we will be happy to help.

Do you integrate with elevators?

Yes, access control systems and cameras do integrate with elevators in multiple ways. If you have an elevator that requires access control, you can expect to call your elevator company during our installation. We will need the company to open the elevator panel for our access control wiring. We can not do this without the elevator company as we do not have authority to modify their systems. Cameras will require a CAT5/6 cable in the elevator wire track. Most new elevators have this wire ready for you. Older elevators may not have a CAT wire in the track. If there is a coax cable, we can use converters to install your POE camera in your elevator car.

What kind of wiring is required for access control systems?

Most systems require low-voltage cabling, such as Cat5e/Cat6 for networked controllers and 18/2 or 22/2 gauge wire for door strikes, readers, and sensors. Always follow the manufacturer’s wiring diagrams.

How do I handle power supply requirements?

Ensure each access point has a dedicated power source, often from a centralized power supply or PoE (Power over Ethernet) if supported. Include backup power with a UPS or battery system to maintain security during outages.

What kind of response times can I expect?

Jendy responds to clients immediate via phone calls, texts or emails. Service and support help can be instant while on-site services will depend on the issue, urgency and location. Contact us to learn more about how we support our clients Arizonaly.

Can you integrate into our fire alarm system?

Yes, our access control systems and power supplies will integrate into fire alarm panels FACP inputs. We will require the fire alarm company that manages your fire system to connect our wires to their panel as we do not have authority to modify their panels. In the event the fire alarm company will grant us authority, we can connect the wires without their presence.

Can you integrate access control with existing security systems?

Many modern systems support integration via network protocols or APIs. Choose access control hardware and software that can connect to your existing cameras, alarms, or building management systems to streamline monitoring and response.

How do I ensure compliance with safety and building codes?

Always check local building and fire codes. Emergency exits must remain compliant with egress requirements, and some installations require fail-safe or fail-secure locks depending on regulations.

What maintenance is required for access control systems?

Regular maintenance includes cleaning card readers, testing door locks, updating firmware and software, reviewing logs for unusual activity, and replacing backup batteries as needed.
